Animal Restaurant Mola Pair
Kitchen Scene
This is one of the panels of a wonderful pair of molas that portrays a very whimsical and unique Animal Restaurant & Kitchen scene
This panel shows the Restaurant's Kitchen, where there is a lot of activity. The Rabbit, that is the restaurant manager, complete with hat, glasses, belt buckle and long sleve shirt is shouting out the orders to the rest of the animal staff. Then there is the jaguar or tiger, obviously the chef, who is in deep conversation with the Iguana waiter, who clad in a pink vest is reading the customer's order. The monkey, with his apron around his waist and a dishrag in his tail, is responding to the loud manager by scrambbling about the kitchen, pushing the food cart in a hurry to serve the hungry customers their meal. The kitchen floor is a nice tile, embroidered in blue thread with small white dots. On the stove are pots with smoke coming out of one of them. Cups are in the overhead cupboard. Carrots and tomatoes are on the counter.
Wonderful and elaborate embroidery throughout the mola. Picture is surrounded by intricate sawtooth or "dientes" stitch. Filler: Multicolored "X's" Size: 15-1/2 x 11-1/2 Colors: Top layer Maroon, Middle layer Black and Bottom layer Navy Blue.
